Things I Will Miss About How I Met Your Mother

As you know the greatest comedy series, How I Met Your Mother is ending on Monday, March 31 with a 2 hour series finale. Now if you didn't know that, then I have one question for you, "Where have you been for the past 9 years, living under a rock?" or if you have just started it, that's okay I'll over look that lapse of judgement of starting so late. Anyway I have seen many blogs floating around that are describing things we'll miss or unforgettable moments from the series, but yet none of them seem to address everything I will miss, so here is my list of what I'll miss after HIMYM ends.

1.) First off, let me just state that it is really hard to explain what I will miss because there is so much that happened over 9 years and believe me it was a great 9 years. However, there is things that stand out to me but I think most of all I'm gonna miss the characters.

Ted Mosby played by Josh Radnor: He is the main character and the one telling his story. He is just such a romantic at heart that you can't help but feel for him!

Marshall Eriksen played by Jason Segal: Marshall is Ted's best friend and married to Lily. He is dedicated to being an environmental lawyer and makes sure to let you know he is a lawyer by lawyering you!

Robin Scherbatsky played by Cobie Smulders: She is the one that Ted thinks is the one, but for most the series Robin is a dedicated TV news journalist. She is quite the tomboy in a sense that she will drink Scotch, smoke a cigar and watch hockey; cause she's from Canada! Go Canucks!

Barney Stinson played by Neil Patrick Harris: Barney is a player in that he is always sharing stories with the group about his latest hookup and how he got them in bed. Most of his stories are extravagant and legend, wait for it and I hope you're not lactose intolerant because the second half of this is, dary, LEGENDARY!

Lily Aldrin played by Alyson Hannigan: She is the wife of Marshall and best friends to Robin. Lily is the one that can't keep a secret but she means well. She is very determined in getting her way and she likes to meddle.

2.) They made it perfectly acceptable to chill inside of a bar at anytime of day, I mean ANY time of day! Sorry F.R.I.E.N.D.S but coffee shops aren't cool anymore. Seriously, though, seriously they were always in MacLaren's Pub... if only I could hang out in a bar that much  AND!!! Did you know it's based on a real pub called McGee's!? Well, you do now!

3.)The Slap Bet!! Probably the best bet ever to happen to mankind, no it IS the best bet to happen to mankind! When it all started and, the day they found out Robin was a Canadian teenage pop star! And sadly the last slap, Barney & Robin's wedding day.

4.) Robin Scherbatsky is a Canadian teenage pop star!! Her alias is Robin Sparkles and her songs are amazing. She also had her own show with her best friend, Jessica Beaver, nbd right!?

5.) Which leads us to all the songs! Most of the songs came from our very own Robin Sparkles but the Slap song and "bang bang bangity bang" just gets stuck in your head for days!

6.) Lily and Robin's friendship, though it was weird at times I want one just like it. Well, everyone's friendships but Lily and Robin's I felt got over looked sometimes. They were my favorite from the show.

7.) Robin's relationship with her co-worker Patrice. I think deep down she really liked her, I mean she was in her wedding for crying out loud! This is probably one of my favorite lines besides, "Lawyered" "You son of a bitch" and "Haaaave you met Ted".

8.) All the interventions...

9.) The General Knowledge or Corporal Punishment jokes by Ted and Robin.

10.) Their doppelgängers!

11.) Some of the best guest stars... Carrie Underwood, Katy Perry, Jennifer Morrison, Sarah Chalke, Britney Spears, Alexis Denisof, and Taran Killam.

12.) Ted, Marshall, and Lily's college years! Ted and Marshall became bros over The Proclaimers' 500 miles.

13.) Barney's LOVE for laser tag. He also caused me to appreciate laser tag more and just how much fun it actually is, thanks Barney Stinson.

14.) Lily and Marshall=the best couple I know! They even made it through a stabbing...

15.) All of Barney's challenges, whether they were meant to be a challenge or not.

16.) All of the little things that kept us laughing and made the show what it is; even the clues leading up to the mother! The Bro Code, the yellow umbrella, slapsgiving, the blue french horn...

Seriously the list could go on as to what I'm going to miss about How I Met Your Mother. Over the past 9 years we have all gained 5 new best friends that took us on many journeys and adventures whether they turned out bad or good it didn't matter. It made us laugh, cry or both at the same time that we looked so ugly trying to laugh as tears streamed down our face. There were some cliffhangers and some things didn't turn out the way we wanted but we eventually learned to accept it, like Robin ending up with Barney instead. I don't think I'm ever gonna get over that Carter and Craig, thanks! However, it is time for our 5 best friends to move on so that we too can move on. It won't be easy to say goodbye and it'll take me awhile to find something to fill that void of my favorite New Yorkers, they replaced those other 6 New Yorkers (I'm looking at you F.R.I.E.D.S. Today, we say goodbye to the best friends and the great 9 years we shared! You will be missed How I Met Your Mother!

Why Lauren Conrad is the Coolest Person I Wish I Knew

I have met quite a few people in my lifetime, all 20 years. (Soon to be 21!!) Now most of those people I would classify as being pretty cool or at least coming pretty close to cool. In other words, I would wanna be friends with them or hang out with them again. Some of those people are the best people I have ever met! But I have decided, since I LOVE pretending I know celebrities, I would write about which celeb I think is the coolest in my opinion and why. Now I shall talk about the lovely Lauren Katherine Conrad (That's right I know her full name, that's how close we are... in my head at least).

Lucky shoot

I first noticed Lauren (yes, from here on out I will refer to her on a first name basis), from a little TV show called The Hills from MTV.I came across this show while I sat on my bed on a Saturday afternoon channel surfing. I had heard of this show before and knew it was a spin off of the show Laguna Beach. I, of course, didn't get into it, felt I was too good for it. (boy did that change) Though that day I felt inclined to watch this show because honestly I wasn't sure exactly what I was watching (and there was NOTHING else on) until the first commercial; but by then I was hooked and there was no turning back.

Original cast

Though I didn't know exactly what this show was about, because I had stumbled upon it, it kinda looked familiar but I never put the pieces together. Before that commercial, however, I begin to enjoy watching one girl in particular. She seemed to carry herself with poise and not want too much drama. The very first time I saw Lauren on my TV screen was when she was with her now ex-best friend Heidi Montag having lunch. At that moment I wanted to be best friends with her (sadly it still hasn't happened).

Though I have gradually come to accept we will never be best friends, (it's all right I already have one) Lauren is probably f'awesome. I mean every time she had some type of drama with her "friend" (it's debatable she is a friend) Heidi, she was able to move past it and not let the drama consume life. I mean come on, tell me someone who can do that? I'll give you a until the end of this sentence to share. TIME'S UP! That's right no one can do that, sometimes not even me.

Even through the tears, she was able to move on from all the high school drama Heidi brought into her life.

After a fight with Heidi
She stuck with the people who remained true to her: Lo Bosworth and Whitney Port. These friends were the ones she could always count on when times got tough and she no longer had Heidi in her life.

Whitney, Lo, Lauren-Besties

Though these friends could only be there for so long, after two years and four seasons Whitney left for New York to pursue her dreams, leaving just Lauren and Lo. Lauren attempted to distance herself from this life after Whitney left but after another year and a half, Lo and some of the other friends weren't helping and Heidi kept trying to cause drama. So after five seasons and three years Lauren left The Hills in a bittersweet goodbye and never looked back.

Her exit, after being the bigger person & going to Heidi's wedding
Her leaving only made her that much cooler however. She not only became a fashion mogul, but she became one of the best people to come from The Hills.

First, she started her own clothing line at Kohl's called LC Lauren Conrad, but it has grown so much into jewelry and shoe lines as well. Then she made her own website, of her own name,  more customizable to help her establish what she wanted for her fans. (she gives great advice about EVERYTHING!) Though that just wasn't enough for her.

She soon released her first book L.A. Candy in 2010, based on some events of what took place on The Hills. It was the first of three in a series she called L.A. Candy. The next came out a few months later, Sweet Little Lies. The final book, Sugar & Spice came out a little less than a year after.

She didn't stop there! A year later, she decided to take her knowledge of fashion (yes she went to school for fashion) and expand it to knowledge of beauty. At first it was just simple advice (blogs on her website) about certain fashion/beauty tips for her fans. But then she wrote a book about it all entitled Style. I will admit, I took a lot of her tips to heart and became a better dresser, makeup wearer & hair stylist because of this book. (Thanks LC!!)

Because this book was such a hit, she started another website dedicated to just this. This site called The Beauty Department was full of tutorials on makeup, hair, and dress; blogs about said tutorials and more advice about everything women wanted related to fashion and beauty! (I go to this site often when getting ready for a party!)

Since both her site and book were popular, that same year she released another book called Beauty. This one was more about how to get dressed for certain events and not about tips & advice on all things fashion. The same day she released this book, she released her first book in her second series The Fame Game called The Fame Game; which is like a spin-off of the firstThen a couple months later in 2012 she released her second, Starstruck.

In all this success however she managed to remain humble and live a semi-normal life for being famous. She even does charity work, volunteering for Habitat for Humanity & adopts shelter animals. (She owns to shelter dogs). Oh and she even put out another clothing line called Paper Crown, which is a bit more expensive than her first.

This is why I love Lauren Conrad and she is the coolest person! Not only did she start out on a reality show that caused drama in her life, but she was able to leave it and move on. Then at the same time still stay relevant enough to become successful in her endeavors despite being famous. She didn't use her status of fame and money to get her to where she is today, she worked hard just like the rest of us. Lauren Conrad is a great role model for being a celebrity and that is why I look up to her, because she strives to be just like everyone else, but lives a life surrounded by flashing lights. She has done a bunch in her life and she is only 27! I am sure she will continue to be cool and do great things. I will always look to her as a f'awesome inspiration I wish I knew!
